BCAD is a system of automated designing, meant for project development of boreholes under the conducting of oil and gas geologic explorations. The application is developed on the basis of conceptual methodological and algorithmic data and calculation optimization.

Functional assignment
The BCAD application is meant for following tasks solving:
- “Subdrilling” tasks complex
- drilling mud drill collars package calculation;

- drill-rod string package calculation under slide drilling for vertical columns;
- drill-rod string package calculation under hydraulic rotary drilling for vertical columns;
- hydraulic parameters and pump work modes calculation under subdrilling.
- “Well casing” tasks complex

- exploitation casing strings package calculation for oil wells;

- intermediate casing strings package calculation for oil wells;
- exploitation casing strings package calculation for gas wells;
- intermediate casing strings package calculation for gas wells;

- casing strings tension calculation;
- tolerated casing strings interior pressure calculation;
- casing string cementing calculation:
- single-stage well cementing calculation

Logical structure
Initial data of general type introduction is made by user directly before the beginning of engineering calculation. Specific data is introduced before each particular calculation type or item. All introduced data is saved for the further usage/changing for the case of recalculation necessity.
All data must be checked for correctness in the moment of introduction.
Volume and type of introduced data is determined by engineering calculation algorithm and by list of needed project documents.
Calculation process is divided into separate modules, carrying out different necessary under the boreholes development engineering calculation as follows:
- Casing strings calculation.
- Cementing.
- Drill-rod string calculation.
- Drilling process hydraulic program calculation.
The algorithm is based on reference literature and specification documents supplied by the customer.
The calculation results coupled with initial data are presented in the form of the report.
Results can be presented both as all calculation in general and as each separate module calculation. Data in printed view corresponds to the existing in the field of geological exploration specification documents.
System technical requirements:
The application is developed for utilizing on personal working stations of IBM PC architecture, which are equipped with processors of IA32 architecture and use Pentium Intel processor- compatible command system.
Software is compatible with the following Windows versions:

- Windows Me
- Windows 2000
