Technical Peculiarities
The description of the product
"Hermes", the bundled software for distribution automatization, is designed for the companies dealing with bulk delivery to the sales outlets. Application development "Hermes" supplied with the perfect solution the companies who don’t wish to waste time on passing over and processing invoices and other documents, correcting mistakes while data communication and other possible failures that may arise during the work with commercial agents.
During application development we aim at making the program maximum handy in utilization. General concept of "Hermes" is quite easy: your commercial agent gets Pocket PC with embedded "mobile" part of the bundled software "Hermes". The data about the work with a customer is immediately sent by mobile communication to the "office" part of "Hermes" where the data is processed and instantly transferred to the accounting software ( for example 1С ),integrated into the "office" part of "Hermes". Such operation algorithm saves considerably the time that usually is lost while handing paper documents (invoices, consignment bills, etc) or telephone communication.
Possibilities
Application development "Hermes" was implemented to increase economic efficiency in the work of commercial agents with sales outlets. Speed-up of trade operations with stable high quality of data communication comes off due to a wide range of capabilities of this development:
- application development has been implemented considering transmission of the received data by different methods ( see "Work Options" );
- prompt data communication separately on every sales outlet;
- preparation of routes and tasks in the office part of the program;
- possibility to draw up and to look through the accounts about the work done by commercial agents;
- handy interface;
- detailed instructions on utilization of accounting control program.
Options
Application development has been implemented considering its utilization by the companies dealing with sales outlets. The described below "Hermes" options reflect the business peculiarities of different companies:
Mobile
Data communication is done according to the following pattern: commercial agent gets the information from sales outlet, ties in his mobile phone to the pocket computer by Bluetooth-connection (or by IrDA) and transmits data to the company’s server. Coordinator of commercial agents receives information in the office part of "Hermes" and passes it over to be processed to the accounts department. The main benefits of this work model are high mobility ( the information can be transmitted at any time and from any place) and efficiency of data processing ( data is processed virtually in seconds ).
Office
By office model a commercial agent needn’t establish Internet connection on his pocket PC. Requests and routes are booted at the beginning of the workday. The information gathered by the commercial agent during a day is loaded onto his personal computer and is transmitted by e-mail to the company’s server, to "Hermes" office part.
Economical
Beginning application development, we estimate the economic expediency of its utilization and in some cases we aim at creating economical ways of work. So, by economical model the company’s website doubles for “Hermes” on the personal computer. It is data transmission tool about every sales outlet. To transmit data, a commercial agent is required any computer with Internet.
Regional
Regional model of work reflects our model of application development considering different companies. By this model a commercial agent transmits the received data by ordinary computer with adjusted
"Hermes" application on it. All data is transmitted by a commercial agent by e-mail.
Technical Peculiarities
While application development, we take into account the minimum requirements to hardware.
Mobile workplace ( pocket PC ) is to be in full correspondence to the imperative requirements:
- operational system: not below Microsoft Pocket PC 2003
- processor frequency: not below 300MHz
- RAM: not below 64Мb
Additional requirements: IrDA is an infra-red port, mobile telephone with activated service GPRS (for remote synchronization ).
The imperative requirements to the company’s server ( office part of the application):
- operational system: Windows 2000/Linux
- processor: not below Celeron 1.7GHz
- RAM: not below 512Mb
- hard disk: not below 40Gb
Additional requirements: dedicated Internet channel, static IP- address ( for remote synchronization of the mobile workplaces). |
